Maestro V-BLOC Surgery

Adelaide Bariatric Centre, in conjunction with Device Technologies and Enteromedics, is pleased to announce that Maestro VBLOC therapy is now available for commercial use in Australia following listing on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. This world first device sends electrical impulses to nerves around the stomach. This switches off the sensation of hunger with resultant significant weight loss.

Professor James Toouli and Dr Lilian Kow of the Adelaide Bariatric Centre were the first group in the in the world to use this system 6 years ago and have worked with the company to have it developed into its current form. Over 600 patients have participated worldwide with 200 completed in Australia. A reversible weight loss option, the VBLOC system can be deactivated or removed if required.
