Exercise Program for Bariatric Patients
Performing regular exercise is an important factor in achieving gradual weight loss and long term weight control.
The main components of the exercise programme are:
- Initial assessment: with your physical therapist, who will assess your exercise needs, and identify any physical limitations to exercising that you may face
- Individual exercise programme: you and your physical therapist will develop an exercise programme tailored to your specific circumstances and needs. The programme will help you lose weight safely
- Strategies, knowledge and skills: your physical therapist will plan strategies that may motivate you to start and/or continue regular exercise. You will receive personalised advice about exercise, posture, core stability and back care
