Band adjustments are performed in our clinic either by your surgeon or a bariatric practitioner. Band adjustments only take a few minutes and are no more painful than having a blood test. Very rarely an x ray is required to insert fluid into the band.

Regular follow up is crucial to the success of any weight loss operation. The gastric band requires 6 to 8 weekly appointment for several visits to achieve optimal restriction. After these first few visits appointments are at 3 monthly intervals for a year followed by 6 monthly visits for a further year and ultimately yearly visits once your weight loss goals have been achieved.
